Uruguay introduced me to Tannat  – the country’s national grape and I have to say that I did consume some very fine Tannat wines during my visit. While I don’t think it is anywhere close to the Malbec, I will still rate this as a spectacular wine.

The popularity of Uruguayan wines actually took me by surprise and so visiting one of its finest wineries was something I absolutely did not want to avoid. Bodega Bouza was a beautiful experience! It wasn’t just the wines at this winery that were brilliant but the entire visit itself. What a stunningly gorgeous place…I will go back in a heartbeat!
